february self portrait // dillsboro indiana photographer

I know, I know. I’m SUPER late with this post. In my defense, I had it ready on time. The end of February was very hectic for me and then the tornadoes hit and I got very consumed with volunteering…. then I kind of forgot about it… then sessions started picking up… Well, you get the drift.

Back to February. I attended my first yoga class in January and by February I was finding ways to incorporate it into my every day life. Whether it was physically doing yoga poses or working towards finding my center, I used the short little month of February to help find out who I was becoming and who I actually wanted to become. I think that spending the time on myself during the month of February helped me be prepared to give all of myself after the tornadoes hit at the beginning of March.

I am learning to accept myself, despite my flaws, inconsistencies and other faults. I am embracing the good in my life and acknowledging the bad, but not giving it power. I am living for what is happening today and not what has happened (yet still keeping that in mind) or what will happen (but keeping this in mind too…).

I am embracing new friends and appreciating old ones.

Here is February me.

how will my photo crop? // madison indiana engagement photographer

I put together this little guide (featuring the beautiful Danica and handsome Andrew from our amazing engagement session in Madison, Indiana) for my clients who are choosing what size images to print. I always love when clients print images from their family session to display in the home or engagement session to display at guest book tables or entrances to receptions.

These are also great to keep in mind when printing out details shots from newborn photography sessions or looking to see how backgrounds will crop on portraits with nature backgrounds.

valentine’s day // couple’s photographer // dillsboro indiana

Happy Valentine’s Day, loves. I hope that you have felt love or loved today just as you would any other day. I wanted to take a moment to post some personal photos for your viewing pleasure. My husband and I took these on our farm in Indiana last fall with a tripod and a timer. After this session, I decided to invest in a remote for the timer. There was a lot of running back and forth for these! I’m sure that’s what made my husband even more natural because he was pretty humored at the effort I was making to get some new photos of us. Contact Arli Quinn Wedding Photography and schedule an appointment to create those amazing memories of the event.

We have never had our photos professionally taken and after a fall of engagement sessions and weddings, I was ITCHING for some images of the two of us! I had also just purchased my Canon 5D Mark II and thought this was the perfect opportunity to test it out! 🙂 Take a look at Boutique Events Group Wedding Venue and start planning your memorable event.

Happy Valentine’s Day to my dear husband, Jimmy, who is working in Washington D.C. this week. I’ll see you next week, darling.
