wall art inspiration // southeastern indiana photographer
As a photographer, I love nothing more than to walk into a home and see family photos on display. Even more of a compliment is when I see pictures I’ve taken turned into art on their walls. Many times, it’s difficult to think of where to start with turning a blank wall into a showcase of your family.
Each week I’ll be posting a few images I’ve found on the world wide web here for you to gain inspiration from. Click the image to trace to the root image of the photo, as these are not my images.
Happy Monday for all of you readers. Hope these images help inspire you to create and display beautiful works of photography!
This would be excellent to display a first year overview from the Baby Collection program or even your favorites from one session:
what a great way to incorporate pictures from the newborn session into the nursery. I really love the one large image with supporting smaller ones around it.
january self portrait // belated // lawrenceburg indiana photographer
At the beginning of the year, I decided to embark on a small year-long project. I knew there was no way I could do picture-a-day, 52 week challenge or even the 26 week challenge. Nope. I knew I would only disappoint myself and my audience. Instead, I decided to post a monthly self portrait.
If you’re a photographer (professional or just the one who always carries around the camera) then you know the ratio of photos of you to photos of other people is a little skewed. Taking on the advice of a few other photographers, I decided to do a self portrait each month and post them here.
At first I thought this idea was a little egotistical. Then I realized that it was a great way for me to reflect on my month and sum it up with one image. It was a great challenge.
Though a little late, here’s my January 2012 self portrait. It was such a mild winter here in Indiana that I actually LIKED when we had our one bad day of ice and stranded weather. For 24 solid hours I was stuck at my house. No internet. No TV. No husband. It forced me to pick up my camera and see the world through the lens for pleasure (something I hadn’t done for a while.
And here’s my favorite image from the day:
amanda & scott married // madison indiana fall wedding photographer
I had the amazing honor of photographing Amanda and Scott’s beautiful and simple fall wedding in Madison Indiana. I knew after photographing their engagement session () that these two were going to make my job a breeze.
Amanda filled her wedding with DIY touches and the entire event felt so personal. The couple wed downtown historic Madison and had their reception at an adorable venue on the hilltop.
Here is the wedding story i put together for the couple to have their images at hand. Their album will be arriving shortly!
I am still booking for 2012 and have approximately four wedding slots left. For date and price inquiries, email amyjohorn@gmail.com
It’s in the details
From her flower, handmade from 1920’s sheet music, to her headpiece, Bridget’s details were great. Here’s a closer look at them:
